Justin and Brianne Houk have requested a variance to build a 27-foot-high, 1,935-square-foot detached garage with a covered porch to store vehicles, snowmobiles and landscaping equipment. City code requires detached garages not exceed 576 square feet and restricts their height to 15 feet.

Justin Houk owns a landscaping business and he wants to keep his equipment and vehicles in a garage on his property.

However, some of Houk's neighbors said they are concerned about possible noise pollution and traffic that would come from Houk’s landscaping vehicles including a dump truck, a pickup truck and a trailer.
