Editor's note: This story was updated at 6:45 p.m.

President Barack Obama will make a campaign stop in Mentor just three days before the election.

According to a campaign statement, the president will speak at a "grassroots event" somewhere in the city on Saturday. A campaign official said more details will be available soon.

The Mentor stop is part of a lengthy weekend tour. Obama will also speak at events in Dubuque, Iowa, Bristow, Va. and Milwaukee on Saturday. He will visit Concord, N.H., Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Aurora, Colo. and Cincinnati on Sunday.

Obama planned to campaign in Akron on Wednesday, but canceled the event. According to whitehouse.gov, the President decided to remain in Washington D.C. to monitor Hurricane Sandy, and help coordinate the federal response and relief effort.

A November 01, 2012 at 05:00 AM
That was a CNN poll. But I don't have to do that since Nate Silver does it for me in far more depth than me or u. :) and he gives Obama 299 electoral votes. :) nice try though! :)

Keep watching the faux gop propaganda.
tom m November 01, 2012 at 05:09 AM
henry you stated "THE ECONOMY HAS NEVER HAD SUCH A SUSTAINED INCREASE IN BOTH EMPLOYMENT HOUSING, AND RECORD CORPORATE PROFITS" unemployment has stayed the same for the last 4 years housing ???????? what please give me that stat and the record profits ...please,.,. Fewer Americans are working than at any time in the past three decades. One reason corporations are so profitable is that they don't employ as many Americans as they used to and the ones still working are paid less ...........................so you have failed ........you are dismissed
tom m November 01, 2012 at 05:24 AM
LOL Nate silver his 2010 guess was off by more than rasmussen and gallup so his opinion is just that (he guessed 2008 correct ...........Ok so did tina faye
henry p November 01, 2012 at 05:26 AM
NO not failure.. that would be the Bush Legacy where we had the collapsed economy and Obama and his policies resuced us from what Bush himself said "would be the greatest depression we have ever had!" And if you don't like overseas employment your candidate's vice presidential nominee voted against using a tax structure that would keep jobs here! YOU ARE DISMISSED! Fortune released its annual list of the country's 500 biggest companies this week, and it turns out to have been a good year for corporate America. In 2011, the Fortune 500 generated a combined $824.5 billion in earnings -- an all-time record, and a 16 percent jump from the previous year. The report echos others indicating corporate America is experiencing boom times. U.S. corporate profits returned to pre-recession levels, according to the International Institute for Labour Studies released Friday, hitting 15 percent of gross domestic product.

nowhere close to an answer to the question henry you stated "THE ECONOMY HAS NEVER HAD SUCH A SUSTAINED INCREASE IN BOTH EMPLOYMENT HOUSING, AND RECORD CORPORATE PROFITS" unemployment has stayed the same for the last 4 years housing ???????? what please give me that stat and the record profits ...please,.,. Fewer Americans are working than at any time in the past three decades. One reason corporations are so profitable is that they don't employ as many Americans as they used to and the ones still working are paid less and your answer is explained by my previous posting

Women Unemployment is 10.9%
henry p November 01, 2012 at 03:32 PM
Jim, I know, but historically, women are always less employed, however you have one candidate, Romney, that refuses to approve the Lilly Leadbetter Act that gives equal pay to women, and Obama who WANTS equal pay for women! What is your choice?

It was not placed by the network, but the cable/satellite provider via an ad buy.
Jack Kelly November 01, 2012 at 04:01 PM
But, you don't have a problem with Kasich and Portman gallivanting around Ohio campaigning for Romney/Ryan, do you? I didn't think so.
Jack Kelly November 01, 2012 at 04:01 PM
"Wake up America" Practice you preach, partisan punch-drinker.
Jack Kelly November 01, 2012 at 04:03 PM
"Obama is a failure....wake up!!!!!!!" And Keith Best is another uneducated WAAAHHpublican who only gets his info from Beck, Hannity, Rush, Fox News, Gallagher et al because those who do -- as you and your ilk do with your comments -- is that you're completely ignorant to the branches of government and how they work. Have another swing WAAAHpublican punch.

The "biased media" (talk about stupidity) did no such thing.
Jack Kelly November 01, 2012 at 04:05 PM
"Obama has done nothing to help the US economy in four years and Mitt Romney has." BWHAHAHA. That's funny. So, what's your view of Congress, huh? I would presume it's the same for every single incumbent as it is for BHO, right? (here come the excuses in 3..2...)

i guess that is why Ohio is number 2 in the nation for jobs. But oh that's right you liberals don't care about jobs.
Aaron Hunter November 03, 2012 at 01:30 AM
Beth Norquist, you say "Who's getting us out of the recession: Obama" Could you please give us an idea when Obama plans to start this process?
henry p November 03, 2012 at 04:15 PM
Arron, NO president is responsible for the first three months of their presidency as far as jobs... there is no way ANY policy created can stop whatever happened from before.. if you take away those numbers, which OBAMA CLEARLY was NOT responsible for, it is EASY to see we have made OUTSTANDING progress in jobs. AND if the REPUBLICANS had not blocked EVERY JOBS BILL (it takes a lot of balls to insist Obama has made no jobs, but yet block every jobs bill for everyday projects that PREVIOUS TO THIS BUNCH OF Republicans was A NON POLITICAL and automatic passage bill), our unemployment would be under 5% !!! and that would be If we had even NORMAL hiring of public projects, roads, bridges, etc, even without taking into consideration any recession, however if there was co-0peration of Republicans and they did what any SANE congress would do and provied EXTRA funds, not just the normal ones, we would have been out of this a LONG time ago, and we wouldn't even be discussing it..Instead, It was ALL ABOUT MAKING AMERICA FAIL and putting Millions of Americans out of work in order to put one president out of a job. It is just shameful!!!

NO THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t want Romney’s version of change including: • A severely conservative Supreme Court. • Tax and jobs plan that doesn’t make mathematical sense as most experts say. • 1% percent control of the nation, • Leader who says “corporations are people”, and puts the needs of corporations before the people. • Higher taxes for middle class and lower taxes for the rich. • Medicare taken bankrupt in 2016, as reports indicate, • Overturn of Roe vs Wade and return women’s rights to the 1950s, • Leader who condemns 47 percent of Americans, • Leader with hot temper and controlling demeanor who seems eager to start a war against Iran. I’m very pleased to stay with reliable, proven Obama-Biden who are taking America FORWARD -- not back to the Bush years!

EXACTLY! AMEN TO THAT JEAN!
Aaron Hunter November 03, 2012 at 06:23 PM
Yea because what we have now is working so well for the 25,000,000 people who no longer have full time jobs. Go ahead and vote for the thug again. We'll get four more years of the same or worse! You people are blind. Turn of MSNBC! The thrill up the leg is gone!
The Anti-Alinsky November 03, 2012 at 06:57 PM
This just in: The Anti-Alinsky's boss just informed The Anti-Alinsky that insurance premiums will be going up 12% next year! 12%!!! If this is change we can count on maybe The Anti-Alinsky should move to a less restrictive country, like Russia!
