The mall has requested to have a freestanding sign that is 475 square feet and 32 feet high.

Under usual circumstances, the largest freestanding sign allowed for a shopping center the mall's size is 120 square feet and 15 feet tall.

The mall already began in May. Internal changes don't require a vote from the Planning Commission or BZA.

The mall's multimillion-dollar renovation includes:

  • changing the mall's color scheme to warmer, earthier tones
  • making the columns slimmer to improve shoppers' line of sight
  • replacing the flooring with ceramic tile and carpeting
  • renovating the food court with new lighting and banquet seating.

Also on the BZA's agenda tonight:

  • has four items on the agenda pertaining to signs.

The auto parts store has requested that it be allowed to have 72-square-foot sidewall signs facing Center Street and State Route 2, as well as a 36-foot-tall freestanding sign.
