Mentor Planning Commission to Review Great Lakes Mall Renovation Plan Tonight

Mentor Planning Commission is scheduled to vote on a change to reimaging of the Mentor mall's entrances

Mentor Planning Commission is scheduled to vote on a planned change to the reimaging of Great Lakes Mall's entrances during its meeting at 7 p.m. today in .

The commission already approved . However, the mall's plans for its doorways and accompanying signage have since changed slightly, so it requires a new vote from the commission.

The mall has already started by replacing the flooring in the concourse. Internal changes don't require a vote from the Planning Commission.

The mall's multimillion-dollar renovation includes:

  • changing the mall's color scheme to warmer, earthier tones
  • making the columns slimmer to improve shoppers' line of sight
  • replacing the flooring with ceramic tile and carpeting
  • renovating the food court with new lighting and banquet seating.

The commission is also scheduled to vote on the preliminary site plan for a manufacturing building on Tin Man Road.
