Ohio's 18th Senate District Race Is Finalized

November's race between Republican John Eklund and Democrat Jim Mueller is finalized

No independent candidates have filed to run for Ohio's 18th district seat in the Senate.

Both Eklund and Mueller ran unopposed in today's primary.

Originally, Tim Grendell was elected as senator of that district but he gave up the position when he was appointed judge of the Geauga County Juvenile Court. Eklund was then appointed to finish Grendell's term.

The city of Mentor is split between two state Senate districts, the 18th and the 25th.
