Company Asks Planning Commission For Permit To Process Yard Waste

Mentor company is scheduled to have a public hearing at the Planning Commission meeting tonight

The Perfect Touch Landscape Company has a public hearing scheduled 7 p.m. tonight with the Mentor Planning Commission at .

According to the meeting's agenda, Perfect Touch will ask for a permit to excavate, demolish and process yard waste at 5879 Heisley Road.

Originally, companies that processed yard waste in the city needed a 2,000-foot buffer zone from other businesses. However, a buffer that big almost made it impossible to legally process yard waste anywhere in Mentor.

Consequently, Council voted to shrink the buffer to 1,000 feet.

Regardless of buffer size, company's still need a conditional-use permit from the Planning Commission to process yard waste.
