Classic Auto Proposing To Build New Ford Lincoln Dealer

The Planning Commission could vote on a conditional use permit for Classic Auto Group at tonight's meeting

has filed for a conditional use permit so they can build a Ford Lincoln dealership at 8540 Tyler Boulevard, next to the dealership.

Mentor Planning Commission can vote on the permit during its meeting 7 p.m. today at City Hall.

The proposed dealership would be 67,000 square feet, according to the report prepared by the city administration for the Planning Commission. The development plan included a new car dealership building and auto parts building on the two parcels.

The floor plan of the proposed showroom would include a reception area with a customer lounge, cafe and business center.

Meanwhile, the service area would have 34 service bays, including alignment bays and tire-and-brake bays.

Also, at the Planning Commission meeting:

  • ClevelandMoto wants to sell new motor scooters, cycles, parts and accessories at 7488 Mentor Avenue, Unit E.

If approved the motorsports dealership would share a multi-tenant retail building with and . The unit it wants to fill has been vacant for the last 18 months.

Cleveland Moto hopes to to expand the business into the adjoining unit within the next six months and add 1,764 square feet to create a 4,000 sq ft. store.

ClevelandMoto would sell new motor scooters and cycles from Vespa, Piaggio, Kymco, Genuine Scooter Company, Royal Enfield and Ultra-Moto Electric Bicycles, according to the staff report.
