City Council Races Finalized for November Election

All four City Council ward seats will be contested

The races for all five available City Council seats are finalized and the only person who will run uncontested is Council's newest member.

, , is the only person running for her at-large seat. Her term will expire Jan. 1, 2014.

Meanwhile, Ward 1 representative and Council President faces three opponents who aim to oust him: Board of Zoning Appeals member ; businesswoman ; and Planning Commission Member Nicholas Valeri.

Each of the remaining incumbents have one opposing candidate. Ward 2 Councilwoman Carolyn Bucey will face .

In a rematch from 2007,  will again try to unseat Ward 2 Councilman Edward Walsh.

Finally, Councilman Ronald Micchia will run against  in Ward 4.

The Mentor Schools Board of Education also has two seats on the November ballot. However, those races promise to be uneventful as the only people who have filed are incumbents Thomas Tuttle and Mary Bryner.
