City Council Can Vote On Grant For Expanding Mentor Business

City Council will vote at meeting 7 p.m. tonight at City Hall

Mentor City Council can vote on a proposed grant for an expanding Mentor manufacturer during its meeting 7 p.m. today at .

, a general tool and die machine shop, is family owned and has been in the city for 22 years.

It bought its current building at 8785 East Avenue in 2004. Now, to accommodate growth, it wants to add a 4,500-square-foot expansion.

The expansion will cost $210,00 for the building and another $80,000 for a new CNC machine, according to a memo from Mentor's Economic Development Director Ron Traub.

Council is scheduled to vote this evening on whether or not to provide a $4,000 economic development grant to help pay for the new equipment.

As part of the grant, Sulecki will have to increase its payroll from $475,000 annually to $600,000.
