Woman Is Accused of Helping Rob Salvation Army Employee

Sandra Pauley is accused of buying the gun used to rob a Salvation Army store employee and driving the getaway car

A woman is accused of helping to rob a thrift store employee while the victim was trying to make a bank deposit.

Sandra Pauley, 43, is suspected of buying the handgun that was used in the robbery and driving the getaway car, Mentor Police Lt. Ken Gunsch said.

Pauley now lives in Columbus. She turned herself in this morning at Mentor Municipal Court. She is charged with one count of complicity to commit aggravated robbery.

Judge John Trebets released her on a $100,000 personal bond, meaning she will have to pay $100,000 if she doesn't come to any of her future court appointments.

Pauley is the ex-girlfriend of Ronald Funk.

Funk, 39, formerly of Painesville, was convicted of robbing the Salvation Army employee at gunpoint Feb. 24, 2010.  The victim was going to deposit more than $3,000 from the store into a deposit when Funk threatened her with a gun.

Funk took the money and left in a car that police say Pauley drove.

He was sentenced in December to spend nine years in prison for his crime.

Pauley could spend the next three to 10 years in prison if she's convicted. Her next court appearance is scheduled for March 17.
