Woman Hospitalized After Van And Bicycle Collide (Updated)

The woman was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center

A woman needed to be flown to the hospital after a van and bicycle collided at about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday on the 7800 block of Munson Road, according to the Mentor Police Facebook page.

The woman on the bicycle -- Barbara Stevenson, 55, of Mentor -- was driven to Lake West Medical Center and then flown by medical helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center.

She suffered serious injuries during the collision. However, she was conscious when paramedics transported her, authorities said.

Stevenson was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

Nobody in the van was injured.

The Mentor Police Department is investigating the crash.

Stevenson is listed in fair condition.
