Salomon had a relationship with the teen during the summer of 2010, Mentor Police Capt. Kevin Knight said. However, 16 is the age of consent, according to Ohio state law. Consequently, the relationship is illegal, Knight said.

Mentor Police arrested Salomon Friday. An officer saw him with a teenage boy, each carrying two book bags, near the T-Mobile store on Mentor Avenue. The officer thought they were acting suspiciously, so he stopped them.

The officer found more than $700 worth of clothes and DVDs in the bags. The DVD titles ranged from Avatar: The Collector's Edition to season sets of Sex and the City. The clothes and DVDs were stolen from a Target store in Willoughby, Knight said.

The police also arrested the teenager with Salomon for violating the city's daytime curfew.

Judge John Trebets arraigned Salomon today and set his bond at $200,000, which was not posted.

Salomon's next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.

If convicted of all three felony charges, Salomon could be sentenced to anything from probation to 3 1/2 years in prison.

Charges are not an indication of guilt. All suspects are entitled to a fair trial and presumed innocent until proven otherwise.
