Teen Arraigned On Drug Charge After He Overdoses

Timothy Throop is accused of abusing heroin

A teen was arraigned on a charge of drug abuse after he overdosed at Studio 6 hotel in Mentor, according to police.

Though 19-year-old Timothy Throop was arraigned Friday in Mentor Municipal Court, the incident that led to the charge occurred Oct. 12.

Throop, , Ashley Korb and Rostislav Ryazanskiy bought some heroin and returned to the hotel to use it, Mentor Police Lt. Tom Powers said previously.

When they did, Throop overdosed. The people with him called paramedics who took Throop to Lake West Medical Center where he recovered.

Judge John Trebets set Throop's bond at $5,000, which was not posted. His next court hearing is scheduled for Jan. 5.
