Solon Police: Man Charged After Taking Horse Trailer For Joyride

The information in this report is from the Solon Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A Lodi man was charged with various crimes after he was caught taking a white pickup truck and a horse trailer on a joyride on Dec. 4.

The driver, Paul D. Duncan, 31, of Lodi, was charged with receiving stolen property, drug abuse, possessing drug abuse instruments, hit-skip, failure to comply and driving under suspension.

According to the police report, Solon Police received a call from the manager at Springhill Suites on Aurora Road that a man driving a truck and horse trailer had hit a van in the parking lot and left.

A Solon police officer spotted the truck on U.S. 422, but the driver refused to stop. The truck kept driving into Bainbridge Township before another car stopped because they mistakenly thought the police were pulling them over, thereby blocking the white truck and forcing it to stop.

Police learned the truck and trailer had been stolen, and they also food prescription drugs and hypodermic needles in the truck.

Hi Lucy: The report doesn't say anything to indicate there were any horses in the trailer, but I don't know for sure. I'll check and find out!
