Repeat Shoplifter Is Sentenced to 6 Months In Jail

Philip Crouse -- , CVS and -- pleaded guilty to three counts of petty theft today in .

Judge John Trebets sentenced him to six months in jail. However, Crouse, who is 48 and from Painesville, could face another 360 days in jail if he violates his probation once released.

As part of his sentencing, Crouse was also ordered to pay $200 in restitution to and $174 to . He was also fined $100 for trying to steal wallets and a car stereo from vehicles outside of .

Crouse has a lengthy history of grand and petty theft. He was arrested in 2004 and charged with counts of theft, burglary and breaking and entering and disrupting public service in Lake County Court of Common Pleas.

A jury convicted him and he was sentenced to five years in prison.

However, he got back into trouble when he was released. He was convicted of theft twice in 2011 in Painesville Municipal Court.
