Prostitution Suspect Arraigned On New Charges

Jamie Gammel is being held on a $15,000 bond

The Mentor woman who was convicted of prostitution in August was back in Mentor Municipal Court Monday and being arraigned on similar charges.

Jamie Gammel, 33, was arrested during an undercover operation Friday.

Gammel had been advertising her services on a web site, backpages.com. Consequently, an undercover officer arranged to meet her at Studio 6 motel where she offered to perform a sexual act for money, police said.

Gammel was arrested and charged with solicitation, possession of drug paraphernalia and of criminal tools.

Judge John Trebets set her bond at $15,000, which has not been posted. Her next court hearing on these charges is set for Nov. 19

However, Gammel is already scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 7. She is set to be sentenced for her previous prostitution conviction.

On Aug. 3, Mentor Police arrested Gammel under very similar circumstance. Once again, Gammel had advertised her services online. Additionally, Mentor Police officers had received an anonymous call saying that her room, once again at Studio 6, had a lot of men coming in and out.

Officers went to her room and found a make-shift massage parlor with a table, oils and sex toys, police said.

They also found a client list with services rendered.

Gammel subsequently pleaded guilty to prostitution, drug possession (specifically, suboxone) and possession of criminal tools -- all misdemeanors.
