Police: Man Picks Fight In Restaurant Where Officers Were Eating

Jason Hougan was stunned with a Taser, then arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest

A man is accused of starting a tussle in a restaurant where Mentor police officers were eating Thursday night.

At about 11:45 p.m., the midnight shift officers were eating at Hooley House when a fight began between three men, according to the Mentor Police Department Facebook page.

One man continued to fight when the officers interceded so police stunned him with a Taser, according to police.

Hougan pleaded no contest and was found guilty of the charges Friday in Mentor Municipal Court.

He was fined $100 and sentenced to 30 days in jail. However, 28 of those days were suspended so they can be avoided if Hougan does not get into any more legal trouble.
