Police Charge Teens with Vandalism After They Post Evidence On Facebook

Four teenagers face criminal mischief charges for spraying graffiti on buildings in Mentor

Mentor Police have identified the , vandals who spray-painted their handles on several Mentor businesses, in part because members of the TCK poster their handiwork on Facebook.

Police have been trying to find the TCK since October. The graffiti artists have tagged at least six businesses in Mentor, including and the Terrace Apartments, Mentor Police Sgt. Richard Slovenkay said.

Police got a break in the case when a group of teens buying spray paint were taped by security cameras at . Detectives, with the help of the Mentor Schools resource officer, were able to identify some potential suspects.

Then detectives went on the suspect's Facebook pages and found photos of their graffiti handiwork, Slovenkay said.

Police arrested four teenagers from Mentor -- two boys and two girls.

They all confessed to vandalizing the buildings and have been charged with criminal mischief in Lake County Juvenile Court, Slovenkay said.
