Pole Fire Closes Route 306, Causes Power Outage

About 650 households in Mentor are without power Wednesday morning because of a pole fire

Mentor firefighters closed Route 306 between Ohio and Bellflower roads while they doused a utility pole fire Thursday morning.

The road has since reopened but the fire caused about 650 households in Mentor to lose power.

Kathie Pohl, the director of marketing for the city, said about half of those households would have power back by 11 a.m. However, the rest would not have power restored until repairs are completed.
