Mentor's famous fire truck spent Thursday giving free rides to Broadmoor students and Deepwood clients

Two generous benefactors, Ron Guenther and Gary Humble, purchased two fire truck rides at the annual Deepwood Foundation Fundraiser in November and donated it to Deepwood.

Then Kevin Patton from Mentor Safety Village decided to turn the two rides into a day-long event so all the Broadmoor students and Deepwood clients had a chance to get a ride.

Phillip is a 1986 Pierce Arrow Fire Engine that was donated by the city of Mentor to the Mentor Firefighters' Historical Association in 2007. Since then, he has been refurbished and updated to become an interactive safety engine and museum on wheels.
