Mentor Police Close Center Street-Tyler Road Intersection After Crash

The crash downed live power lines and caused some areas to lose power

Updated at 4 p.m. Traffic is re-opened in both directions

Mentor Police and Fire Departments closed the Center Street-Tyler Road intersection after a crash knocked down live power lines in the area Wednesday afternoon, according to the Mentor Police Facebook page.

Traffic is being directed down Tyler and to Bellflower and Market Streets. The intersection will remain closed until the power lines are removed.

Some businesses and homes lost power after the crash. However, according to FirstEnergy's web site, fewer than five FirstEnergy customers were still without power as of 2:50 p.m.

If you are without power, you can report the outage by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS or use FirstEnergy's web site.

Nobody was seriously injured during the crash, according to the Mentor Fire Department.
