Mentor Police Arrest Fugitive Who Is Suspected Of Attempted Murder

An alert officer found the man Friday in the parking lot of Gabriel Brothers clothes store

An alert Mentor Police officer found a fugitive Friday who is wanted in Puerto Rico on charges of attempted murder, aggravated robbery and weapons offenses.

According to the Mentor Police Facebook page, an officer checked on an occupied vehicle in the shared parking lot of Gabriel Brothers and Ollies at about 12:40 p.m.

One of the occupants had a warrant through Puerto Rico for the aforementioned charges.

Consequently, Mentor Police arrested him and the authorities from Puerto Rico will extradite the male to face charges.

Mentor Police did not have details on the incident that led to the man's charges. Additionally, the man's name will not be released until he is arraigned Monday in Mentor Municipal Court.
