Davis was already a registered sex offender before this latest conviction.

Davis was arrested in May when agents from the Postal Inspector's Office, with the help of the Mentor-on-the-Lake Police Department, raided his home.

In his sentencing memorandum, Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan said the authorities confiscated 70 computer discs and three VHS tapes containing child pornography in Davis' house as well as more than 1,100 photographs, 5,000 computer images and 300 computer movie files. Agents also seized various child-sized underwear, boyhood paraphernalia, a VHS camera, 35 mm film, a large poster of a boy in underwear, a bottle of Viagra and one condom.

Davis has been registered as a sexual offender since 2002 when he pleaded guilty to attempted pandering obscenity involving a minor in Lake County Court of Common Pleas.

On Jan. 27, 2002, officers from the Mentor-on-the-Lake Police Department were called to Davis' home for a domestic disturbance.

While investigating a physical altercation between Davis and a family member, the officers discovered several photographs of nude boys on the floors and walls of Davis' room, according to the Lake County Prosecutor's Office.

Before that, Davis was convicted of sexual assault for repeatedly victimizing a 5-year-old boy, according to the sentencing memorandum.

Davis was also accused of raping a 9-year-old boy twice in Tennessee. However, he was never convicted.

"Unbelievably, the charges were dismissed on the condition that (Davis) leave the state of Tennessee within 24 hours," Sullivan wrote in his sentencing memorandum.
