A Mentor-on-the-Lake man was arrested after he was caught peeking into a girl's bedroom, Mentor-on-the-Lake Police Chief John Gielink said.
A man called police after he saw a stranger looking into the window of his daughter's bedroom at about 6 a.m. Thursday, Gielink said.
When police arrived, the suspected voyeur -- 42-year-old David Kelly -- tried to run away. However, Kelly had left his car in the nearby Giant Eagle parking lot so he could not run too far, Gielink said.
The police continued to chase Kelly for awhile. However, he surrendered after an officer threatened to use a stun gun on him.
Once he was in custody, Kelly admitted that he had peeked into several other windows, as well, Gielink said.
Kelly was charged with attempted voyeurism, prowling and failure to follow police orders. He was arraigned Thursday in .
Judge John Trebets set Kelly's bond at $50,000, which was not posted. If Kelly does post his bond, he will still be under house arrest and have to wear a GPS anklet.
Kelly's next court date is scheduled for Aug. 22.
