Mentor-on-the-Lake Man Accused of Sexual Contact With Minor

Joseph Jones Jr. previously in trouble when police said he tried flood a jail cell toilet with a pillow

A Mentor-on-the-Lake man was arraigned on a charge of sexual contact with a minor Wednesday afternoon in Mentor Municipal Court.

Mentor-on-the-Lake Police Lt. John Gielink said the charges against Joseph Jones Jr., 47, stem from an incident in which Jones pleasured himself in front of underaged girls.

Jones pleaded not guilty and Judge John Trebets released him on a personal bond. Jones' preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.

Jones got in trouble with police earlier this month, also. Police said Jones used a pillow to try to stuff up a toilet and flood his jail cell after he was arrested for disorderly conduct.
