Mentor Man Arrested for a Pound of Marijuana

David Henderson's pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Aug. 1.

A traffic stop on Route 306 resulted in the Mentor Police Department's discovery of a pound of marijuana.

According to the department's Facebook page, David Henderson, 34, of Mentor was stopped around 9:15 p.m. July 24 for an equipment violation. An officer smelled marijuana during the stop, found the drugs and arrested him for trafficking and possession of marijuana and criminal tools.

Henderson was arraigned the following day on felony trafficking and criminal tool possession charges. Mentor Municipal Court records show that Henderson did enter a plea on the trafficking charges and pleaded not guilty on a minor misdemeanor possession charge.

He posted a $2,085 bond. Henderson's pre-trial hearing is set for 8 a.m. Thursday Aug. 1.
