Mentor Lagoons Is Closed While Police Search For Missing Mentor Resident (Updated)

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Raymond Gabor Jr. is asked to call Mentor Police Department

The and Dock A at the Marina is closed until further notice while police search for a missing resident.

Raymond R. Gabor Jr. left work abruptly at 1 p.m. Monday and police are concerned that he may be a threat to himself.

A handgun and prescription pills were missing from his home, according to police.

He was last seen wearing gray dress slacks, a maroon polo shirt with baby blue stripes and brown dress shoes.

Gabor’s truck was located at the trail area of the Mentor Lagoons and he was seen at about 7:45 p.m. Monday in the area of the beach at Mentor Lagoons.

Gabor is 45 years old, about 6 feet tall, weighs 225 pounds and has blond hair and blue eyes.

Mentor Police Chief Daniel Llewellyn said the U.S. Coast Guard has been very helpful during the search, providing both a boat and a helicopter during the overnight search.

In addition to Mentor Police, the Mentor Fire Department's Dive Team are also searching the Lagoons area for Gabor.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gabor is asked to call Mentor Police Department at 440-974-5760.
