Mentor Fire Stops Garage Fire From Spreading To House

The fire caused about $10,000 worth of damage to a garage on Bauer Lane

The Mentor Fire department doused a garage fire before it could spread to an attached house Tuesday evening at 7255 Bauer Lane.

Battalion Chief Kevin Edmond said the department got the call for help at about 8:30 p.m.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to part of the garage. The house was undamaged and still habitable.

Edmond said the fire caused about $10,000 worth of damage.

Authorities are still investigating what caused the fire, though it is thought to be accidental, Edmond said. That is, to say, nobody deliberately set it.

No one was injured by the fire.
