A third burglary was attempted last week on Mentor Avenue near the intersection with Mary Lane. However, the thief (or thieves) were not able to get into the house, Powers said.

Because of the timing and proximity of the burglaries, Mentor detectives think they may be committed by the same person or group of people, Powers said.
