Men Accused of Using Stolen Credit Card To Buy $3,000 Worth of Jewelry and Electronics

Sears employees called police when they became suspicious

Two men are accused of using a stolen credit card to buy almost $3,000 worth of electronics, clothes and jewelry Monday from .

Store employees became suspicious because of the amount of merchandise the men were purchasing, Mentor Police Lt. Tom Powers said. Consequently, they pulled up information on the card's holder. They found the description of the card's owner didn't match either of the people using it; so they called police.

Mentor Police learned the same credit card had been reported stolen the day before in Painesville, Powers said.

Officers came to the store and arrested Howard Crim IV, 24, and 19-year-old Rashad Raimey, who were still shopping. Both Crim and Raimey live in Painesville. Additionally, Crim was already wanted on a warrant from Painesville Police Department on charges of forgery and misusing a credit card.

Crim was charged with receiving stolen property, forgery and misuse of a credit card. Raimey was charged with complicity to misuse of a credit card and receiving stolen property.

Both men are expected to be arraigned today in .

The investigation is ongoing, Powers said, and one or both men could face additional charges.
