Man Gets 15 Years in Prison for Raping 12-Year-Old Boy In Mentor

Andrew Brackman pleaded guilty to two counts of rape and was sentenced on May 6.

A man was sentenced to 15 years in prison on May 6, after pleading guilty in April to raping a 12-year-old boy, according to The News-Herald.

At the time the rapes occurred, 55-year-old Andrew Brackman was living in a motel in Mentor.

Brackman is from Painesville but he befriended the boy while living in the city, prosecutors said.

The judge agreed to the sentence requested by prosecutors because Brackman "has shown remorse" for his actions, reports The News-Herald.
