Man Faces Drug Charges After Being Arrested With Meth Ingredient

Jesse Siferd had 149 pseudoephedrine pills on him when he was arrested, according to Mentor Police

A man faces a trio of drug charges after Mentor Police arrested him with a methamphetamine ingredient on Friday.

Police pulled over Jesse Siferd, 33, after he failed to signal while merging, Mentor Police Lt. Ken Zbiegien said. When an officer searched him, he found a glass pipe, a half pill of Vicodin and 149 pills of pseudoephedrine, Zbiegien said.

Pseudoephedrine is an active ingredient in the manufacture of meth. Consequently, people are only allowed to buy nine grams of it a month.

Police charged Siferd with possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, possession of drugs and possess of drug paraphernalia.

He was arraigned Monday morning in . Judge John Trebets set his bond at $40,000, which was not posted.

Siferd's next court hearing is scheduled for April 30.
