A Mentor man was convicted of public indecency after .

Joseph Leslie pleaded no contest to the charge Monday afternoon in Mentor Municipal Court and was found guilty.

Judge John Trebets did not sentence Leslie, 61, of Cleveland, Monday. Instead, he ordered a presentence report so more information could be gathered on Leslie first.

Leslie's sentencing hearing has not been scheduled yet.

In November, Leslie walked into a Mentor tanning salon.

He and the salon attendant -- a 20-year-old woman -- were the only people in the business at the time, Mentor Police Lt. Tom Powers said .

The attendant told police that Leslie stared at her for awhile without talking. Then she noticed that he had exposed and was pleasuring himself, Powers said.

Next, another man -- one of the salon's customers -- walked in. So Leslie stopped what he was doing and ran away.

The attendant called police, who found Leslie in a nearby store, Powers said.
