Man Charged With OVI After Police Find Him Passed Out Behind Steering Wheel

Police said they found Alan Mastin passed out behind the wheel with his car still running and his foot on the brake pedal

A Mentor police officer stopped when he saw a car parked at 5:40 a.m. Sunday on Munson Road nearby .

The officer saw the car's driver — Alan Mastin, 20, of Willoughby — passed out behind the steering wheel with the engine still running and his foot on the brake pedal, Mentor Police Lt. Tom Powers said.

The officer reported that he smelled the scent of marijuana coming from the car; so he awoke Mastin and made him take some field sobriety tests, which he failed, Powers said.
