Man Accused of Stealing from Dillard's, Running from Police

Dino Dinero was arraigned on charges of theft and fleeing and eluding Wednesday in Mentor Municipal Court

A Willoughby man is accused of stealing more than $1,000 worth of clothes from the  Store in Great Lakes Mall and trying to run from police.

Dino Dinero, 49, was arraigned on charges of theft and fleeing and eluding Wednesday morning in .

The theft happened Aug. 6, Mentor Police Lt. Ken Zbiegien said. A security officer spotted a man taking clothes from the store and putting them in his car.

The security officer memorized the man's license plate number and called police. Then a policeman spotted the car traveling west on Mentor Avenue.

The policeman turned on his siren but the car sped up instead of stopping and escaped, Zbiegien said.

Police used the car's information to identify Dinero as a suspect, Zbiegien said. Dinero was arrested Tuesday from the Cuyahoga County Jail. Zbiegien did not know why Dinero was arrested in Cuyahoga County.
