Man Accused of Attacking Wife Convicted of Domestic Violence
Robert Jeschelnig attacked his wife in the early morning hours after Thanksgiving
The in the early morning hours after Thanksgiving at Hallwood Manor Apartments was convicted of domestic violence in Mentor Municipal Court.
Robert Jeschelnig, 23, pleaded guilty to the charge Thursday, according to court records.
Judge John Trebets sentenced Jeschelnig to 90 days in Lake County Jail. However, Jeschelnig could spend as much as six months behind bars if he doesn't follow the terms of his probation, which include participation in a jail treatment program.

As part of his plea, Jeschelnig's charge of felonious assault was dismissed. If convicted of the felony, Jeschelnig could have spent between two and eight years in prison.
Police were called to the apartment that Jeschelnig shares with his wife in the early morning hours of the Friday after Thanksgiving

Police do not know what caused the altercation between Jeschelnig and his wife. However, Mentor Police Lt. Tom Powers said Jeschelnig choked his wife, threw her on the floor and cut her hand with a knife.
The wife was taken to Lake West Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries.
Jeschelnig was found and arrested in a wooded area behind the apartment complex.
