OU Police are investigating the death of Michael Robinson, whose body was found Saturday at Atkinson Hall on the university's campus, its student newspaper, The Post, reported. OU officials confirmed the death in emails to students and the newspaper.

"On behalf of our university community, I want to express our deepest condolences to Michael's family and friends," OU President Roderick McDavis said in an email, according to The Post. "We, too, are devastated by his death and will work to support his family and friends in any way that we can. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this very difficult time."

Locally, Lake Catholic High School announced Robinson's passing on social media and hosted a gathering service for his friends and family at the chapel Saturday evening.

"We lost a brother today," the Lake Catholic football account tweeted Saturday afternoon.

Robinson wore No. 10 for the Cougars and played running back and linebacker in 2012, according to MaxPreps.com.
