The woman who was general manager of the Villa Pizza in Mentor is accused of stealing $3,313.72 from the business.
For four consecutive days -- from August 25 through 29 -- Jessica Hobbs pocketed the restaurant's money instead of depositing it each evening, Mentor Police Lt. Tim Allen said.
At first, Hobbs told her boss that she did deposit the money, Allen said. When she was asked for a bank receipt, she claimed another employee had deposited the money on those nights, according to police.
Her district manager became suspicious and contacted Mentor Police to investigate.
Hobbs, 22, of Mentor, has been charged with a felony count of theft.
She turned herself in Wednesday and was arraigned in Mentor Municipal Court.
The judge released her on a personal bond and scheduled her next court hearing for Jan. 17.
If convicted of a felony count of theft, Hobbs could be sentenced to up to one year in prison.
