Former General Manager Of Villa Pizza Admits To Stealing From The Business

Jessica Hobbs pleaded guilty to petty theft and paid more than $3,000 in restitution to her former employer

The woman who was general manager of the Villa Pizza in Mentor admitted to stealing from her former employer.

Jessica Hobbs, 22, pleaded guilty to a count of petty theft Monday in Mentor Municipal Court and repaid $3,314 of the money she took from the restaurant.

According to court documents, she still owes Villa Pizza $99.72.

Hobbs's sentencing has not been scheduled yet. When she is sentenced, she could receive probation or up to six months in jail

For four consecutive days -- from August 25 through 29 -- Hobbs pocketed the restaurant's money instead of depositing it each evening, according to Mentor Police.

At first, Hobbs told her boss that she did deposit the money. When she was asked for a bank receipt, she claimed another employee had deposited the money on those nights, according to police.

Her district manager became suspicious and contacted police.

Mentor Police investigated and charged Hobbs with theft.
