He and the salon attendant -- a 20-year-old woman -- were the only people in the business at the time, Mentor Police Lt. Tom Powers said .

The attendant told police that Leslie stared at her for awhile without talking. Then she noticed that he had exposed and was pleasuring himself, Powers said.

Next, another man -- one of the salon's customers -- walked in. So Leslie stopped what he was doing and ran away.

The attendant called police, who found Leslie in a nearby store.

Powers said that Leslie has been convicted of other sexual crimes previously, including public indecency, voyeurism and sexual importuning.
