Detectives Identify Winking Lizard Wallet Thief (Updated)

Detectives believe the woman pictured took the wallet from a Winking Lizard patron and used credit cards from it at BP.

It took Mentor detectives less than an hour to identify a woman they believe stole from a restaurant patron while the person ate.

The woman in the above photo is accused of taking a wallet from a person who was eating at Winking Lizard in Mentor Tuesday. According to the Mentor Police Department's Facebook page, that incident took place prior to the above photo, where the woman is seen entering the BP gas station near Route 306 and Interstate 90.

She used more than one credit card at the gas station, and detectives believe they were stolen from the wallet at Winking Lizard.

The woman's name has not been released yet. Detective Brian Haller indicated he was already close to identifying the woman by 11 a.m., shortly after the department posted the image.
