Moms Talk: What I Love About My Kids (And Grandkids)

Mentor moms name some of the reasons they love their children

Each week the Mentor Patch Moms Council answers a question on parenthood posed to them by readers or another member of council.

This week's question: Name one special thing you love about each of your children.

I love the wonderful caring adults and mothers my daughters have become.

I love that my older daughter has tremendous drive and determination to succeed.

She is very self-motivated and always has been.

I love that my younger daughter immerses herself in artistic pursuits (dance, drama) and is very emotionally in tune with the world around her.

And I love that they are both turning into great young women that I am proud of.

Kimberly Jones:

I just love coming home from work and having my daughters there -- from my 2 1/2 year old saying "mommy's home" to my 17 year old, just seeing her grow up to be a wonderful young woman she has become and what she has accomplished in her life from school, marching band, and all her athletics she has been in over the years.

Gloria Kilfoyle:

I love the way my three sons have become sensitive and amazing husbands and fathers. Their families are most important to each of them.

My daughter is an engineer and works in the energy field. I am delighted how she has managed her life in what is still really a man's world. Humor, along with firmness and knowledge, has been her method. (And she has had some wonderful funny stories.)

I am so proud of each of them for having strong values.

Mary Jo Stack:

I don't think it's fair to ask a mom what ONE special thing they love about their children.

I feel the same about all my kids. They are caring, empathetic, funny and smart.

If I had to chose one characteristic I love the most, it would be my children's sense of humor. A great sense of humor cures a lot of ills.
