“Good decision by OSSAA to put Class 7A football on ice for now”

No Class 7A football in Oklahoma

~Hip Hip Hooray…no Class 7A~

Great news and good choice to hold off on the decision on Class 7A  football in Oklahoma!  Thank you OSSAA board members for at least taking another look at things before making what many thinks will be a bad decision.

Everyone agrees that it is time to make some changes in 6A and that the topic needs to be addressed however everyone does not agree that a class 7A is the  best answer.

The board was divided  when they voted on the proposal 7-6 against sending it to a vote and then voted 6-5 to send it back for more discussions.  So that means that the vote reflected that adding a class 7A was something that needed to be discussed in further detail.

What are the alternatives to Class 7A Football?

There are a variety of propositions on message boards far and wide some good and some not so good… and I am not here to say that I have the answers…however I do know that Oklahoma does not have enough large schools to have a class 7A, 6A and 5A.

What’s wrong with leaving the classes the same and working something out within those divisions.  Come on OSSAA you guys are very bright with creative minds can’t we get this figured out and leaveclass 7A out of the discussions.

Having only 16 teams in a class is not a good thing and it sure does
not make for good football competition here in Oklahoma.  Also the topic of what about the other sports that are competitive with the way it is now…don’t we have to think about that???

So OSSAA thank you again for putting class 7A on ice for now… because it’s more to think about than just football and when we do think about the football aspects of this ridiculousclass 7A proposal it is not in the best interest of Oklahoma high school athletics.

I write about things like this because I care about Oklahoma high school football and its tradition.  See how easy you can start writing you own blog daily and the best part is you can get paid… click here to see  how these 2 cool dudes helped me get started and will help you too!
