Mentor Boys Win 3-2 in Tough Game against Copley. Next Game Saturday at 7 vs Avon Lake

After dominating the first half, the Mentor Cardinals defense started the second half allowing two Copley goals in the first few minutes of play.  With momentum shifting their way when they tied it up early in the 2nd half, the Copley Indians took advantage of the stunned Cardinals.  But this team of seasoned Seniors and Juniors kept their head in the game and fought back to eventually win and remain undefeated! I was particularly impressed how the boys handled some disputed calls from the referee (and some "no calls" also). As the game became more and more physical, the Cardinals stayed cool and played their game.  Next game is Saturday, September 7th at 7:00 pm against Avon Lake High School! Come out and support your Mentor Cardinals!

ALSO! Don't forget to get out tonight (Friday) and show your support for the Mentor Football team as they take on St. Ignatius.  Always a tough game, Friday night at the JTO will be electrifying! GO CARDINALS!!!

Here are the stats and nothing but the stats:
Final Score: Mentor 3 - Copley 2
Current Season Record: 4-0-1
Goals 1st half:  Colin Eedy and Jake Lombardo
Goals 2nd half: Jake Lombardo (winning goal)
Shots on Target - Mentor 9 - Copley 7
Saves Matt Markiewicz 5 - Copley 6
