Mentor Boys Record A Win at Hudson 2-0

It got chilly in Hudson tonight but the Mentor Boys were hot! First score by Jacob Lombardo came really quick into the first half. Only 37 seconds into the game from a pass by Evan Powell Then a nice goal by Jeff Davis on a corner kick from Kurt Raney sealed the deal in the 65th minute.  Defense did another incredible job. Goalkeeper Matt Markiewicz had several clutch saves and the boys got their 6th shutout in 9 games! The record is now 6-0-3. Undefeated!!!!

Next two games are at Home. Thursday we face North Olmsted and next Tuesday Sept. 24th it's MHS vs Twinsburg. Come on Mentor Cardinal nation!!! Come support your soccer team! Lets show North Olmsted and Twinsburg how loud we can get!

On a side note I wanted to say something about the announcer at the Aurora game the other day. He made it a point several times that our fans were not wanted on the "home" side bleachers. He made several references that if we stayed on the Home side that we should control our emotions because we were sitting on the wrong side. He even came out and made a remark on how he wasn't used to walking through the opposing teams fans since they usually sit on the other side. The Away side was five miles away, away from the bathrooms and concession stands and the parking lot. We didn't know it was a problem. Glad to say that we managed to keep our cool and no ambulances were needed. Seriously?
