Wine Cork Christmas Ornaments

Make an ornament using wine corks, buttons, and charms.

Do you have a few corks laying around your house?  I have enjoyed making cork boards, trivets and wreaths using corks but wanted to try something new. I found this post that shares how to create a wine cork ornament.

My husband set up his drill so that I could easily drill a hole through the cork. I quickly found that it was too hard to thread a fabric cord through the cork and the buttons, so I made mine differently. I used jewelry wire. I placed a charm on it, added some beads, laced it through a button and back up through the cork. I added more buttons and beads - whatever captures your fancy - and then wrapped the wire around a paintbrush handle to create a loop. Then I attached the cording to the wire loop.

My daughter and I made a number of these to donate to a wine tasting fundraiser and to sell at a craft fair.
