Turkey Day 5K Run/Walk

The Lake County YMCA will be hosting its Second Annual 5K Run/Walk on Thanksgiving day, Thursday, November 22, beginning at 8:30 AM at the Central Branch, 933 Mentor Avenue in Painesville.

The run/walk is divided into multiple age groups and the winner of each group will receive a pumpkin pie!


Age groups are defined as: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over.

Check-in begins at 7:30 AM on race day with the run/walk beginning at 8:30 AM. The race route will begin and end at the YMCA Central Branch as it twists east through a bike path and Lake Erie College.

Fee is $15 per person ($20 Race day) and includes a free t-shirt (guaranteed until November 15).


Pre-register online (www.lakecountyymca.org) or call 440-352-3303, registration is accepted until the morning of the race.

In addition,the Central Y is currently offering a 5K Training Coach program scheduled Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-7pm.  The group will give first time 5K runners guidance and resources to successfully finish the annual Turkey Day 5K run/walk.
