Pasta For Puppies is an All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner to support Puppy Raising with Leader Dogs for the Blind.
Founded in 1939, Leader Dogs for the Blind is a non-profit organization that provides guide dogs to people who are blind or visually impaired. Receiving a guide dog is a life-changing event that opens the doors to independence, safety and self-worth to individuals without sight.
Becoming a working Leader Dog is perhaps the most difficult career a service dog could achieve. Complete training takes almost two years and it begins with volunteer Puppy Raisers. The responsibility of a Puppy Raiser is to socialize and teach future Leader Dog pups some of the skills they will need to become successful guide dogs. The training starts when the pups are seven-weeks-old and they remain with the raiser for approximately one year. During this year, volunteer Puppy Raisers are responsible for all expenses incurred, including veterinarian, dog food, supplies and travel to and from the school. Thanks to volunteers and donations from the community, Leader Dogs are provided free of charge to the blind and visually impaired.
In an effort to generate funds for Puppy Raising and Leader Dogs for the Blind, we are hosting a “Pasta for Puppies” spaghetti dinner on Monday, March 25th at the Stadium Grill in Mentor. $10 donation for the dinner. Cash bar.
We are also looking for donations that can be put in a Chinese Auction at the event. If you have an item that you would like to donate, please give me a call and we will make arrangements to have it picked up, or you can mail it to the address below.
Should you wish for us to distribute your catalogs, fliers or business cards at the event, please include them with your donation as we would be happy to do this for you.
We THANK YOU in advance for your generosity and thoughtfulness in making our fund raising event a success.
