Dementia 101: A Person Centered Approach to Dementia Care

Crossroads
Hospice is offering this informational program for hospice volunteers as well
as anyone with a loved one suffering from dementia. The
person centered approach emphasizes the individual as a unique person, rather
than focusing on the disease, its challenges, and the lost abilities of the
person. Person centered care recognizes that dementia is only part of the
person; the person does not become dementia. Dementia 101
will include information, techniques, and tools for: understanding
dementia, communication skills, creative responses to challenging behaviors,
and activity-based care.

The
program is free, but space is limited. To register call the Crossroads Hospice
Volunteer Department at 216-654-9300 or register by email to Chrystal.Gullett@crossroadshospice.com.
