Where Did Mentor Rank In Cleveland Magazine's 'Rating The Suburbs?'

Mentor was ranked 18th in Cleveland Magazine's annual Rating the Suburbs issue -- a jump from being 27th last year.

Willoughby, at 14, was the only other Lake County community to crack the top 20.

Cleveland Magazine uses such indicators as safety, education and housing, as well as public services, diversity and walkability, to compile its annual rankings.

Mentor and Mentor-on-the-Lake, which share a school district, were ranked 16th in education. Mentor was ranked 59th in safety.

Mentor was also listed as having the fifth lowest property taxes and the 13th most home sales.

Finally, Mentor-on-the-Lake was 11th on the list of suburbs that are the best bargains in which to buy houses.
